Today, the city of London is hosting an exceptional auction orchestrated by Christie's, set to feature more than 220 rare & unique handbags from major fashion houses. Among them, a special Hermès Kelly bag imagined and altered by the American artist Tom Sachs.
Painted in a full white body and adorned with the NASA logo, this one-of-a-kind Kelly bag is crowned by a gold clasp for a definitively vintage look.
Originally commissioned by Dasha Zuchova, stylist and editor of Garage magazine, the piece was later sold to Californian art collector Larry Gagosian, in a private auction and is now estimated to be worth north of £30,000.
Not in London today? Experience the auction through Christie's virtual tour and marvel at the art, from limited edition Hermès to whimsical Chanel runway evening bags and customised Louis Vuitton trunks.
